A community is a group that races together on bdr. It can be a few friends with a weekly race night, or a big league with hundreds of drivers. It publishes its own open lobbies, seasons and events, and runs them on bdr's machines or on servers of its own. Ratings and stewarding are shared across all communities, so you keep one ELO and one Safety Rating wherever you race.
Tip
Thinking of bringing your group to bdr? Building a community shows what your community gets: a feed, boards and weekly stats that your members share, posted into your Discord, and race days that run themselves.
The communities page
Select Communities in the top bar. The page has two parts.
| Section |
What it shows |
| Highlights |
Communities that stood out over the last 30 days, one per category, such as the most kilometres driven, the most driving per driver, the fastest growing or the cleanest racing. Each category shows its winner and the two after it; select one to open its page. The highlights are worked out every night. Each day shows a different choice of categories, and a community appears in one category at most, so the same communities don't win every day. |
| All communities |
Every community, the one with the most members on track in the last 30 days first, then by size. Each card shows the description, how many members it has, how many of them drove in the last 30 days, the races it has run, its median ELO, and links to its Discord and website if it has set them. Select a card to open the community's page. |
Create a community at the top of the page starts your own; Host an event leads to the organiser pages.
"Races run" counts races whose results have been published. The best drivers and teams are on the leaderboards: Drivers and Teams under Leaderboards in the top bar.
Each community has a public page. You reach it from the communities page, or from by … under the track on any of its race pages.
- At the top: the community's name and description, its Ranked or Unranked badge, and Discord and Website buttons when the community has set them.
- Our drivers: how many drivers the community has, the kilometres and races they drove, and their median ELO with the average Safety Rating. These count everything its members drove on bdr, not only the community's own races. Under each number is the last 30 days: how many members drove, their kilometres and races, and how much ELO a driver gained or lost on average. A big community with nothing in the last 30 days has stopped racing. The list of communities shows the same "active" count.
- Drive now: the community's open lobbies, when it has one running. Join them the same way as on Go racing.
- Upcoming races: its next races as cards, with a countdown. Select one to sign up. If there is none, it says Nothing scheduled right now.
- Seasons: one row per series, newest season first, with the season, the car class and Running or Finished. Select a series to open its standings. See Standings.
- Latest results: its races with published results, newest first.
- ELO: the members' ratings as a box beside everyone's. The box runs from the lower to the upper quarter of the drivers, the thick line is the middle driver, and the thin line reaches from the 5th to the 95th percentile. It shows once three members have a ranked race. Only drivers with a ranked race count.
- Drivers: for the community's members only, the last 30 days: who drove the most kilometres, who gained the most ELO and Safety Rating, and who joined last. Anyone else sees that the list is for members. To join, ask the community for its invite link.
Among us: for members
A community's members (its roster and its staff) see an Among us section on its page. Nobody else sees it, not even other signed-in drivers.
- Feed: moments of the members. A member becomes the quickest on a track in a car class, climbs the board past others, or comes onto the board's top places (10 unless the community chose another number). The newest are first, and new ones appear while you look.
- Quickest: a board per track and car class, chosen at the top right. It ranks the members by their pace: the average of their five best clean laps in the dry, driven anywhere on bdr, practice and open lobbies included. A board starts once three members have a pace on it. If you are on it, Your target shows how far you are from the member just ahead of you.
Select The week in numbers for the community's Stats.
Stats
The Stats page shows what the members drove anywhere on bdr, for This week, Last week, 30 days or All time. A week ends on Sunday at 14:00 UTC; Earlier summaries has every week as it was posted.

Every Sunday at 14:00 UTC the community's Discord gets the week's summary, when the community has set up Discord. See Community setup.
The community's owners and admins see their organiser tabs, the getting-started checklist, Running now and Ranked status on top of this. See Community setup.
Ranked and unranked hosts
Every community is either ranked or unranked. The badge shows which.

New communities start as unranked. A community asks for ranked status from its own page, and the bdr team decides. See Ranked status.
The badge also appears on each race: Unranked host on a race page means that race will not move your ratings. After such a race, its result shows Unranked · Untrusted host. See Ratings for everything else a race needs to be ranked.
Tip
Racing with an unranked host is a good way to practise a series or try a new community without risking your ratings. Your points in their standings still count.
Hosting your own races
Select Host an event at the top of the communities page to start your own community. Anyone signed in can create one. See Organising and Community setup.
